Broadly speaking, the ranking system of Counter-Strike:Global Offensive is spread across six major skill groups namely Silver, Gold Nova, Master Guardians, Legendary Eagles, Supreme Master First Class and The Global Elite. The skill levels of players in each group increases with the ascending ranks. For instance a Gold Nova Master will generally play a lot better than a Gold Nova 1, and in the same way a Master Guardian will play better than a Gold Nova.
Gold Novas are the second skill group in the game, coming after the Silvers. While Gold Nova ranks are generally considered low, the fact is that Gold Novas hold the most number of players in CSGO compared to other ranks. The density of players in CSGO increases along the competitive spectrum and peaks at around Gold Nova 3, before falling at a rapid rate, reducing to only a fraction towards the last few ranks.
One of the most common questions CSGO players ask is “how to get out of Gold Nova?” However, contrary to the beliefs of many, there is really no special trick to it which will magically get you out of Nova.
The key to get out of Nova (or any skill bracket) is by practice and training. Maximize your ADR every game by training your aim, reflex, movement and most importantly gamesense.
Before you jump on to a competitive game, be sure to set aside half an hour just to practice and refine your skills. Make sure to practice jumps and movement in general – having good movement is a key skill any CS player should have.
Follow these tips, and you’ll find yourself gliding through the ranks in no time. Whenever you find yourself stuck, improve yourself to an extent till you’re better than everyone else in your bracket.
